At St.Colman’s we aim to foster a love of learning. Respect for their environment. Enable learning and teaching to take place in a happy, safe and secure atmosphere . Respect the uniqueness of each person, being open and accepting of all, regardless of race, creed or ability. Promote Christian values, foster an appreciation of history, culture and instil a sense of pride of place.
No other thing in life affords children such opportunity to develop positive character traits and to soak up many quality values as sports does. Here are some benefits that may come from playing sports in our school. Teamwork and benefits of social interaction, respect authority, rules, team colleagues and opponents along with a healthy body and mind that will enhance their learning.
Today’s children must be given the chance to develop their creativity to the fullest extent possible; not only for the benefit of their own future but also for the communities we all inhabit. The primary school curriculum encourages creativity in many forms, though the particular focus of this school is on singing, dancing, music and art.
Our recent report on Well-being throughout the school indicated that the students and parents of St.Colman’s are very happy at school. Here are a few statistics from that report.
Out of the three classes surveyed 1st – 6th. 100% of the students either agreed or strongly agreed that they belong in our school.
Our recent survey found that all parents agreed that there was a positive culture in the school.
